Johan G.

Johan G. is an experienced risk management professional with a robust background in safety and risk assessment within the coal industry. Since June 2021, Johan has served as a Risk Manager at Thungela, following a long tenure at Anglo American Coal South Africa, where the role of Risk Manager has been held since January 2013. Johan's career also includes extensive experience at Anglo American Thermal Coal and Goedehoop Colliery, where responsibilities ranged from risk management to safety supervision. Johan began the professional journey at Anglo Bank Colliery as Chief Safety Officer from September 2000 to July 2005. Education includes a degree in Safety Management from the National Academy for Disaster Safety and Management (NADSAM) and further studies at the University of Southern Queensland.
