Wayne Harris

Wayne Harris is an experienced professional with extensive expertise in Human Resources and organizational transformation within the coal mining industry. Currently serving as the Programme Champion for Sustainable Risk Reduction at Thungela since July 2018 and as the Site Transformation Champion for Anglo American Coal South Africa, Wayne focuses on enhancing safety culture and driving transformation initiatives. Previous roles include HR Manager at Greenside and Landau Collieries, and in Thermal Coal Project Services, where responsibilities encompassed employee relations, training, community development, and strategic planning. Wayne's career in HR began as a Senior Industrial Relations Officer at Bank Colliery, with an academic foundation that includes a BA from the University of Natal and management programs from GIBS and Stellenbosch Business School.
