Senior Scientist at Thymmune Therapeutics

Qiumei Du has more than 10 years of experience in the field of biomedicine. Qiumei is currently a Senior Scientist at Thymmune Therapeutics, where they began in August 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Scientist at HARBOUR BIOMED from April 2020 to August 2021 and as a Scientist from November 2018 to March 2020.

Qiumei also has experience at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where they served as an Assistant Instructor from November 2017 to October 2018 and as a Postdoctoral Researcher from February 2016 to October 2017.

Before UT Southwestern, Qiumei worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Baylor Scott & White Health from November 2011 to February 2016. In this role, they were responsible for identifying, validating, and qualifying blood biomarkers in support of Dendritic cells (DCs) based clinical programs. Qiumei also collected and managed clinical data from DC-vaccine based clinical trials and processed human blood samples to establish transcriptional profiles for patients.

Qiumei's early career includes a role as a Graduate Student at the Chinese Academy of Sciences from September 2005 to June 2011. During this time, they focused on studying the roles of TNFRSF members in regulating the functions of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs).

Lastly, Qiumei worked as an Exchange Visitor at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center from April 2007 to January 2008.

Qiumei Du began their education at Shandong University from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology. Qiumei then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Immunology from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, which they completed from 2005 to 2011. As part of their studies, they also served as a visiting scholar at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center from 2007 to 2008, focusing on Immunology.
