Rob Merz is a seasoned creative professional with extensive experience in leading design and branding initiatives. Currently serving as Senior Director of Creative at TIAA since May 2025, Rob oversees the creation of brand-defining creative in the retirement division and manages a team of designers and copywriters. Prior to TIAA, Rob held the position of Vice President and Creative Director at Calamos Investments from January 2011 to May 2025, where responsibilities included directing the in-house design department and collaborating with senior management on various marketing materials. Earlier roles include Senior Art Director at Elton Designs, Senior Designer at BladesEdge/Blades & Associates, and Communications Specialist at the Kauffman Foundation. Rob holds a Bachelor of Art in Graphic Design from Iowa State University.
