️Laksitha Ranasingha

Laksitha Ranasingha has had a diverse range of work experiences in the software engineering field. ✌️Laksitha is currently working at Tide as a Senior Staff Software Engineer, a position they started in July 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Tide as a Staff Software Engineer from June 2021 to July 2023.

Before joining Tide, Laksitha worked as a Director at Agrur Consultancy Services Ltd from August 2016 to July 2022. ✌️Laksitha also served as a Lead Kotlin Developer (Contractor) at Vanguard from July 2020 to March 2021 and as a Lead Engineer at HelloDone.ai from September 2019 to June 2020.

Laksitha gained experience in the banking sector as well. ✌️Laksitha worked as a Senior Developer (Contractor) at RBS from April 2018 to December 2018, where they developed and delivered a critical regulatory service for the CurrencyPay product. ✌️Laksitha also worked at Lloyds Banking Group as a Senior Developer (Contractor) from October 2017 to April 2018, where they built services for industrializing machine learning models.

Additionally, Laksitha has experience in the public sector, having worked at the UK Home Office as a Software Tech Lead/Consultant (Contractor) from October 2016 to September 2017. There, they successfully led a team in delivering a new passport application processing system.

Earlier in their career, Laksitha worked at Sky Network Services as an Agile Developer from September 2014 to October 2016, where they focused on designing and developing broadband and telephony provisioning systems. ✌️Laksitha also worked at ITRS Group as a Software Developer from October 2010 to October 2014, where they developed high-performance distributed services for real-time monitoring and insight of infrastructure and applications.

Laksitha's earliest work experience was as a Senior Software Engineer at DirectFN from December 2008 to September 2010. During this time, they built a user-friendly application called DirectFN NET for trading symbols and worked on the development of an order management system for their e-trading platform.

Throughout their career, Laksitha has demonstrated expertise in various programming languages, frameworks, and tools such as Kotlin, Java, Scala, Spring, Akka, and more. ✌️Laksitha has a strong background in developing high-performance systems and has worked on projects involving agile practices and lean-agile methodologies.

Laksitha Ranasingha completed a Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) degree in Computer Science/IT from the University of Colombo between 2002 and 2005. Later, in 2019, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Advanced Computing Technologies from Birkbeck, University of London, which they completed in 2022. In terms of additional certifications, Laksitha obtained the following: "Personality Types at Work" from Coursera in August 2019, "AWS Fundamentals: Going Cloud-Native" from Coursera in June 2019, "Sun Certified Web Component Developer" from Sun Microsystems in January 2010, "Sun Certified Business Component Developer" from Sun Microsystems in June 2007, and "Sun Certified Java Programmer (J2SE 1.4)" from Sun Microsystems in January 2004.
