Marcelo Iturbe's work experience begins in 1995 when they worked as a Developer at Digit Interactive, a marketing/design company. Marcelo then co-founded MSM Interactive in 1997, where they served as the CIO and was involved in the development of web sites, intranets, and extranets. The company was later acquired by Quebecor and Antartica in 2000. Marcelo co-founded Humano2 in 2001 and worked as a Partner/Co-founder until 2006. In 2006, they co-founded Tigabytes and served as the Co-Founder/CTO. Finally, in 2011, they briefly worked as the CTO at mon.ki Inc. before moving onto other roles.

Marcelo Iturbe completed their education at Ryerson University, where they studied Computer Engineering from 1993 to 1997. Prior to that, they attended Sir John Franklin Territorial High School from 1989 to 1991. In addition to their formal education, Marcelo obtained several certifications in various fields from Google. These include a Google Apps Deployment Specialist certification obtained in August 2015, a Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer certification obtained in December 2019, a Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification obtained in November 2019, a Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Developer certification obtained in January 2019, and a Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect certification obtained in November 2017.
