Tim Hughes has extensive experience in the financial services industry. Tim began their career in 2000 as the Managing Director, UK at IG. In this role, they defined, communicated and implemented the strategy, delivered effective marketing campaigns to grow market share, and managed retail and institutional sales functions, marketing, PR and events in the UK and Ireland to acquire and retain actively trading clients. Tim then moved on to become the Group Head of Sales Trading where they recruited, trained and managed the 25-strong pan-European team of sales traders, implemented professional CRM to improve client retention and value, and designed marketing and educational content for client communications and website. Tim then took on the role of Senior Sales Trader, providing expert and professional brokerage to valuable spread betting and CFD clients, executing client trades, handling premium client queries and training new team members, and creating and maintaining engaging relationships with clients.

In 2014, Tim Hughes became the Director at ionStar, providing clear, practical and actionable regulatory compliance solutions for financial services firms. In the same year, they also took on the role of Advisor at Code Investing Limited. In 2015, they became the Interim Chief Commercial Officer at CrowdBnk Ltd and in 2016 they became the Non Executive Director at TIMETOTRADE. Most recently, in 2018, they became the CEO, UK at TigerWit Group.

Tim Hughes has a well-rounded educational background. Tim obtained a BA in Economics & Politics from The University of Sheffield in 2000. In 2005-2006, they completed a Diploma from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) in Regulation and Compliance, Financial Derivatives, and Bond & Fixed Interest Markets. Tim then went on to complete an Executive MBA from London Business School in 2010. Additionally, they have obtained four certifications: Chartered Fellow FSCI from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in 2019, Casualty Care Course from RNLI in 2017, Personal Survival Techniques from RNLI in 2014, and National Powerboat Certificate Level 2 from the Royal Yachting Association in 2013.
