Dan Shea serves as the Head of Global Legal Investigations and Senior Counsel for Trust and Safety at TikTok, a role held since October 2022. Prior to this, Dan Shea worked at Microsoft from March 2009 to October 2022, holding various positions including Senior Counsel for Digital Security and Resilience, where responsibilities included providing legal counsel on cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance matters. Dan Shea also led compliance efforts across Asia as Regional Director of Compliance & Litigation and offered global labor and employment law support as a Global Employment Attorney. Earlier in Dan Shea’s career, a tenure at GEICO from 2000 to 2009 involved defending the company’s interests in litigation. Dan Shea earned a JD from Seattle University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications & History from James Madison University.
