Simon Zhao is a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at TikTok, where they lead generative AI initiatives for recommendation and search systems serving over 2 billion monthly active users. With over a decade of experience in machine learning, Simon previously worked at notable tech companies including Meta, Shopee, and Alibaba, where they developed and optimized large-scale recommender systems and generative models. Simon holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Yunnan University and Guizhou University, respectively, as well as a joint graduate degree from Tsinghua University in Integrated Circuit Design.
