Orly Halpern is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in reporting across various media platforms. Currently a reporter for TIME since May 2021, Halpern has previously served as a middle east bureau producer for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation from January 2023 to April 2025. Halpern has also contributed as a freelance journalist and news/film producer for magazines and newspapers from July 2006 to January 2025, with notable reporting for TIME magazine, The Washington Post, The Globe and Mail, and others. Previous roles include journalist and producer at CTV News from April 2011 to June 2022, editor of APN's News Nosh for Americans For Peace Now from September 2011 to May 2021, and a reporter for various outlets including American Public Media and The Jerusalem Post. Halpern holds a B.A. in International Relations and Affairs as well as in Middle Eastern Studies and Islam from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
