Don Dailey has a diverse work experience in the field of GIS and transportation planning. Don started their career in 2011 as a Geographic Information Systems Technician in the Arkansas Army National Guard, where they digitized and created a geodatabase of physical assets and assisted in the creation of a statewide map book.
In 2012, they joined the City of North Little Rock as a GIS Specialist, where they created presentation quality cartographic products and assisted in the implementation of ArcGIS for Server.
In 2014, Don joined the Arkansas Department of Transportation, initially working as an Advanced Geospatial Specialist, where they supported the work of the GIS and Mapping Section with cartographic products and spatial analysis. Don used Python scripting and ArcGIS tools to automate tasks and created presentation quality maps. Later, they transitioned into the role of a Senior Traffic Safety Analyst, where they analyzed crash data and implemented GIS methodologies to improve highway safety by identifying high crash rate locations and possible causes.
Most recently, in 2022, Don joined Timmons Group as a Technical Analyst II. The details of this role have not been provided.
Don Dailey has a diverse education history. In 1989, they began their academic journey at Pittsburg State University, where they studied Journalism and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993. After a considerable gap, from 2009 to 2011, Don enrolled in the University of Central Arkansas to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. Following their undergraduate studies, they continued their education at the same institution, completing a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems in 2012.
