Based in San Diego and founded in 2018, we make artisan handbags and accessories that embody artisan culture with the California lifestyle so you can Live Artisanally -   

During a trip to Mexico in the summer of 2017, our founder Marina Laparte came across local artisans making handwoven bags. Seeing this as an opportunity to support the communities in need and share their work with the world, she took home some handbags to create Tin Marin and make them available for all.

This is the start of a series of products under the Tin Marin brand that will include other offerings complementing the handbags and reinforcing the craft of a handmade artisan product made by proud locals that strive for quality and enjoy sharing their creations.

“Tin Marin” is a classic riddle used in Mexico, similar to “Eeny Meeny” in English. Tin Marin means you are given many choices and looking to decide on one. Now the only choices you’ll have to make are where to take your Tin Marin’s.
