Sergio Álvarez

Sergio Álvarez Leiva is an experienced professional in the fields of venture capital, product development, and design, currently serving as VC at K Fund and Product at Tinybird.co since August 2020. As a co-founder and head of design at Vizzuality, Sergio has led projects for over 30 international organizations, including NASA and Google, aiming to enhance data-driven decision-making in areas like Earth conservation. Previous roles include Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at CARTO, where strategic product management was central, as well as teaching positions at prominent institutions such as INSTITUTO TRAMONTANA and IE School. With a background in Human-Computer Interaction and Interaction Design from the Programa Vostok II and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Sergio has considerable expertise in designing user interfaces and product strategies throughout a diverse career.
