TLMoto is a multidisciplinary team of around 70 students from Instituto Superior Técnico dedicated to the design, development and production of electric racing motorcycles.

Our main goal is to compete in MotoStudent, an international university competition that challenges student teams from around the world to develop a high-performance prototype and apply their engineering knowledge in a real motorsport environment. The competition culminates in the Final Event in Aragón, Spain, where the motorcycles and the teams’ technical and strategic work are evaluated.

TLMoto was founded in 2012, initially competing with a combustion motorcycle. With the launch of the electric category, the team embraced the challenge of electric mobility and has since focused on the development of fully electric prototypes.

Over the years, we have developed several prototypes, continuously improving our technical capabilities and competitive performance. We are currently developing our 6th prototype, continuing our commitment to innovation, engineering excellence and sustainable mobility.

In MotoStudent 2025, TLMoto achieved 20th place worldwide and 1st place nationally, reinforcing its position as a leading Portuguese university team in electric motorcycle engineering.
