Mike Rutz has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mike is currently the Co-Founder/CEO of MakeMyMove, a position they have held since August 2021. Prior to this, Mike co-founded MakeMyMove in January 2018 and served as the Executive Vice President until July 2021.

Before their involvement with MakeMyMove, Mike worked at Angie's List for over a decade. Mike held multiple positions, including SVP of Sales Operations and Strategy from July 2015 to October 2017, VP of Sales from January 2011 to July 2015, General Manager of E-Commerce from January 2010 to January 2011, General Manager of Angie's List Health from July 2008 to January 2010, and Director of Client Success from July 2006 to July 2008. During their tenure at Angie's List, Mike played key roles in sales operations, strategic planning, budgeting, lead generation, and sales training.

In 2004, Mike worked as the Director of Fundraising/Finance Chairman for Mitch Daniels' gubernatorial campaign, where they successfully raised over $18 million, setting a statewide record. Mike continued to serve as Finance Chairman after the election, managing Governor Daniels' campaign bank account and fundraising for other candidates.

From 2005 to 2006, Mike took on the challenge of leading the turnaround of Care Ambulance Service, Inc. as President. Mike restored the company's financial health by creating positive cash flow and successfully managed its sale.

In 2002, Mike worked for the Indiana Republican Party as the Director of Fundraising. Mike achieved a record-breaking fundraising amount of over $3 million and contributed to setting the stage for Mitch Daniels' campaign for Governor.

At the start of their career, Mike worked as Communication Coordinator for the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation from 2000 to 2002, where they organized public forums to promote educational initiatives. Mike also served as Deputy Campaign Manager for Gatzimos for Congress in 2000, where they managed fundraising activities and campaign literature.

In 1999, Mike worked as a Special Assistant for the Gilroy for Mayor campaign in Indianapolis, where they conducted advance work for events, coordinated candidate movement, and assisted in fundraising efforts.

Mike Rutz attended Indiana University Bloomington from 1993 to 1997 and obtained both a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in French Language and Literature. In April 2014, they also obtained a Private Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration.
