Joël Kapusta

Joël Kapusta is a senior metallurgist with 30 years of experience in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy, specializing in sonic injection in bath smelting, converting, and refining of copper and nickel. Currently serving as a Senior Consulting Expert at BBA Consultants since 2021, Joël previously managed a team focused on plant audits and process optimization. Joël has held leadership roles with the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, and The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society, where notable contributions include chairing several international conferences. They earned a Ph.D. in Extractive Metallurgy from The University of British Columbia and have developed significant expertise in submerged gas injection and custom-designed pyrometallurgical solutions.
