Coen Smits

Coen Smits is an experienced project manager currently working at TNO since September 2023, following a role at NCSmits. Prior experience includes serving as a domain expert at INSPECH and project manager at Unihorn, where responsibilities encompassed project planning, team management, public relations, and financial oversight within road construction consultancy and asset management. Coen has been instrumental in developing AI-driven maintenance and inspection platforms, including the innovative Wegenwijs. Earlier career experiences include consultancy on road asset conditions, rigorous methodologies for road assessments, and laboratory research at TU Delft focusing on Poroelastic Road Surfaces. Coen holds an MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology, and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Inholland University.
