Dick Plomp has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Dick started their career as an Intern at De Nederlandsche Bank in 2004. In 2006, they worked as a Graduate intern at the Ministry of Defense and also as a Consultant at Adviestalent BV. Dick joined Twynstra Gudde in 2009 as a Management Consultant, where they worked until 2014. From 2014 to 2017, Plomp served as a Senior Project Manager in the Department of Finance & Facilities at TNO, supporting the TNO Board of Management in policy development and monitoring. Dick then transitioned to the role of Portfolio Manager Corporate Real Estate & Facilities Investments at TNO from 2017 to 2019. In 2018, they briefly served as the Deputy Research Manager at TNO's Innovation Centre Buildings. Plomp currently holds the position of Department head of Asset Management & Engineering at TNO, a role they have held since 2019.

Dick Plomp attended Lambert Francken College from 1994 to 2000. Dick obtained a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering & Management from the University of Twente, completing their studies from 2000 to 2006. In 2012, they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for Executive Education, focusing on Corporate Strategy.
