Eric Groen

Senior Scientist, Consultant

Eric Groen serves as a Visiting Professor at Cranfield University since September 2017, focusing on Human Factors within the Air Accident Investigation Course. Since 1998, Eric has held the position of Senior Scientist and Consultant at TNO, specializing in motion perception, motion sickness, and spatial disorientation in pilots, while also leading the EU FP-7 project SUPRA on aviation upset recovery simulation. Additionally, from April 2014 to January 2022, Eric was a Guest Lecturer in Aviation Studies at Hogeschool van Amsterdam, teaching on Aviation Physiology and Human Factors. Early experiences include a Ph.D. role at TNO Defence, Security and Safety, a visiting scientist position at York University, software engineering at Raet, and research on energy drinks at Utrecht University. Eric earned a Ph.D. in Space Physiology and a Master's Degree in Biology from Utrecht University.
