John Beerends

John Beerends is a Senior Researcher at TNO, where they focus on speech intelligibility, loudspeaker reproduction quality, and perceptual measurement techniques. They hold a PhD in perception, alongside an MSc in physics and a degree in electronics. Beerends began their research career in 1982, gaining recognition for their patent on sound perception while still an MSc student. They have co-developed multiple quality measurement standards and hold over 35 patents in the field. Beerends is a published author with more than 100 contributions to conferences and ITU.
