Jok Tang has a diverse work experience in various industries and roles. Jok began their career as a Trainee at RIVM, where they conducted statistical analysis on climate change data. Jok then interned at Shell, collaborating with Delft University of Technology on improving mathematical models for gas and oil exploration. Following this, Jok worked as a PhD Candidate at Delft University, focusing on numerical analysis and computational fluid dynamics. After completing their PhD, they joined Deloitte as a Business Analyst in their Actuarial and Employee Benefits division. Jok then worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Minnesota, conducting research on quantum-mechanical systems. Jok later joined TU Delft as a Postdoctoral Associate and Scientific Consultant in the TKI Switch2SmartGrids project. Jok also worked at VORtech as a Senior Mathematical Consultant, where they specialized in mathematical consultancy and data science. Currently, Jok is the Head of Department at TNO, leading a team of professionals working on digitization challenges in the built environment.

Jok Tang graduated from the Delft University of Technology, where they obtained a BSc and MSc (with honors) in Applied Mathematics. Jok attended this university from 1999 to 2004. Prior to that, they attended St. Bonifatius College in Utrecht from 1993 to 1999, although no specific degree or field of study was mentioned for this period. In 2015, Jok Tang obtained a PRINCE2 Foundation certification from APMG-International.
