Mark Sassenburg

Mark Sassenburg is a Lead Scientist Innovator CO2 at TNO, focusing on the industrial application of CO2 electrolyzers and conducting experimental validation on gas diffusion electrodes for CO2 electroreduction at scale since March 2023. Prior experience includes a PhD Candidate at MECS - TU Delft, specializing in CO2 reduction research through catalyst production and the characterization of lab-scale renewable energy systems from August 2018 to March 2023. Mark Sassenburg also served as a visiting scholar at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, working on electrochemical CO2 reduction systems from November 2019 to December 2020. Additional background includes freelance work at De UitzendStudent and academic training in Chemical Engineering, Sustainable Energy Technology, and Molecular Science and Technologies at Delft University of Technology, culminating in a Doctor's Degree in Chemical Engineering in October 2023.
