Paul Stegmann

Paul Stegmann is a consultant on circular plastics at TNO since September 2022, part of the Energy & Material transition unit. Previously, Paul served as a guest researcher at Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving from July 2018 to November 2022, focusing on improving integrated assessment models related to the plastic sector and circular economy. Paul completed a PhD at Utrecht University from September 2017 to November 2022, concentrating on the circular bioeconomy and its impact on climate change mitigation. Prior experience includes project coordination at ISWA International Solid Waste Association, internship and project management roles at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, and research assistance at Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Sustainability Studies and master's degrees in Sustainable Development from Utrecht University and Leipzig University, as well as a bachelor's degree in European Studies from Otto-von-Guericke University and Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
