Peter Giesen

Peter Giesen has extensive experience in opto-mechatronics and mechanical design, currently serving as the Opto-mechatronics mechanical lead at TNO since November 1997, focusing on semiconductor, nuclear fusion energy, and space instruments. Additionally, Giesen holds roles as a Scientist Innovator, mechanical designer, and project manager, specializing in the design of laser-based 3D printers, semiconductor equipment, and plasma sources for atomic layer deposition. As a board member of the Dutch Society for Precision Engineering, Giesen promotes professional networking and knowledge sharing among precision engineers. Previous experience includes work as a researcher and project manager at Holst Centre, with a focus on flexible electronics and laser patterning, and as a graduation student at TNO, developing precision guiding mechanisms for space applications. Giesen obtained an education from the University of Twente and completed a program at The High Tech Institute in 2015.
