Robbert Willems is a Research Scientist focusing on sustainable internal combustion engines at TNO since April 2023, collaborating with global partners in the automotive, maritime, and off-road sectors. Previously, Robbert worked as a Reliability Engineer at Bright Society from October 2020 to March 2023, developing methods for re-use of machine parts for ASML's Circular Engineering group. Robbert's academic background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, where research involved reactivity-controlled compression ignition in heavy-duty engines, complemented by projects on engine efficiency and emissions. Additional experience includes a master's degree in Automotive Technology and a bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, with earlier research focusing on engine diagnostics at Delphi. Robbert has also engaged in soft skills training through the Bright program.
