Ronald Kersten

Ronald Kersten has extensive experience in operational and research roles at TNO, beginning in 1993 and continuing to the present. As the Director of Operations for the Mobility & Built Environment Unit, Ronald leads initiatives aimed at creating a more sustainable living environment. Prior positions include Director of Operations for the Defence, Safety and Security Unit, overseeing all aspects of operations, and Director of Research for Observation, Weapon and Protection Systems, managing multiple departments focused on military technologies. Other notable roles include Research Manager for Intelligent Imaging and Department Head for Electro-Optics, where Ronald was responsible for technology advancement and departmental performance. Ronald also contributed to military energetic materials research and led a safety program regarding dangerous goods. Earlier, Ronald completed military service with the Ministerie van Defensie after earning a degree from Eindhoven University of Technology.
