Sieger Henke

Program Manager Microplastics

Sieger Henke is a Program Manager for Microplastics at TNO, a position held since 2020, focusing on microplastics mitigation, health effects, and circular plastics within the Unit Energy and Materials Transition. Prior to this role, Sieger served as Project Manager for Environment & Sustainability at TNO from 2017 to 2019, and as a Scientist in Microplastics & Air Quality at the University of Twente from 2012 to 2016. Sieger completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Twente, where research involved the development of micro hydrogels using microfluidic technology. Additional academic experience includes a Master Assignment in the Tissue Regeneration group at the University of Twente, a research internship at Medisch Spectrum Twente, and a board member role in fleet management at a university rowing club. Sieger holds bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Twente, complemented by a gymnasium degree from Beyers Naudé.
