Thijs Moens

Thijs Moens is a Mechatronics Engineer at TNO since July 2023, specializing in the design, testing, and verification of optical and mechatronic systems. Previously, Thijs held a similar role at TNO from May 2015 to May 2022, focusing on opto-mechatronic systems for free space optical communications, as well as software development for real-time control systems. Thijs has also worked as a Modeling & Simulation Analyst, conducting performance assessments of complex systems through modeling and simulation. Prior experience includes an IT Support role at OGD ict-diensten, an Electronics Engineer position during a project at TU Delft, and a Graduate Intern at Airborne, where the focus was on developing an automated production process for composite products. Early experience includes roles as a Trainer/Coach for sailing programs and internships in test engineering and composites production. Thijs holds a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Inholland University of Applied Sciences.
