Tom Smit

Tom Smit is currently a Scientist Innovator focusing on Quantum Algorithms and AI at TNO, where they explore the transformative potential of quantum optimization and machine learning technologies. They have previously worked as a Teaching Assistant at Universiteit Maastricht, and have held positions as a Developer and Data Scientist at Psylaris, as well as a Research Scientist Intern specializing in Applied Cryptography and Quantum Algorithms at TNO. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from Universiteit Maastricht and is pursuing a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence at the same institution. Driven by curiosity and a passion for innovation, Tom aims to bridge research and real-world applications to create societal impact.
