Wouter Koek

Wouter Koek is a Senior Scientist at TNO since September 2011, leading the development of advanced optical equipment across various sectors such as semicon/lithography, quantum, defense, and laser communication. Wouter has pioneered the introduction of physical wavefront propagation in the design of complex optical systems and is recognized as a frontrunner in utilizing artificial intelligence for design principles. Prior roles include Manager of Customized Applied Metrology at VSL Dutch Metrology Institute, where Wouter managed a team and contributed to national measurement standards, and an Optical Scientist at TNO focused on sensor concepts. Wouter's early career involved roles at Nokia Networks, OmniSTAR B.V., and Lasertec BV, alongside a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology.
