Marko Zhen

Marko Zhen is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in service infrastructure and development. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead at Toast since June 2017, Marko has designed and maintained a service mesh handling over 5 billion requests daily, implemented web application firewalls, and executed load tests to enhance system performance and reliability. Previous roles at Toast include Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer II, where Marko focused on automation tools and performance optimizations. Prior experience includes cybersecurity development at N-Dimension Solutions, agile engineering at Pivotal Labs, and test engineering at Xtreme Labs. Marko holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, complemented by a strong foundation in information and communication technology from secondary education.
