Stephen Brewer

Stephen Brewer is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in engineering leadership within the commerce and customer experience sectors. As the VP of Engineering at Toast since January 2023, Stephen oversees the core Point of Sale, Commerce Platform, and Customer Experience teams, working to enhance the operational capabilities of restaurants. Before Toast, Stephen held significant positions at Square, leading engineering for both the Commerce and Payments Platforms, where management spanned critical components of the Square ecosystem. Previous roles include Chief Technology Officer at Lynx Technology Partners, Director of Technology at projekt202, Co-Founder and CTO of Front Desk, Inc., and various leadership positions in product development at companies such as Lumension Security and Securityworks. Stephen holds a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
