Fernando Santiago has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2004. fernando began their career as an Asterisk Technician at Millicom International Cellular (Tigo) in 2004, where they were responsible for managing call centers up to 100 seats, supporting VICIDIAL applications built on Linux, and configuring PRI/ISDN cards. In 2006, they moved to Aseguradora Rural, S.A. as a VoIP Solutions Manager, where they managed Asterisk and Vicidal servers, T1/E1 lines, set up VoIP communications, and performed MySQL-oriented database management and data mining. In 2007, they became a CSO at RENAP, where they were required to audit Linux-based servers, optimize resources, run audits, and do packet captures between networks. In 2010, they joined ACS Inc. as a Customer Engineer, where they supported homebrew EPPIC applications, performed system administration tasks, and solved critical issues on demand. In 2013, they became an Implementation Manager at Aethra Telecommunications (Teletechno Guatemala), where they were responsible for deploying, analyzing, and debugging major carriers IMS/SIP networks, and consulting on firmware features and specifics. In 2016, they moved to HPE Security - Data Security as a FAE, and in 2019 they joined Huawei Latinoamérica as a Field Support Engineer. Most recently, in 2020, they became a DevOps Engineer at Tokenizer.
Fernando Santiago received a degree in industrial engineering from Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala in 2000. In 2012, they obtained an ITIL v3 certification from Information Technology Infrastructure Library, ITSM.
