Edward Moncada is a co-founder and managing partner at Protofund, an early-stage venture fund focused on blockchain/web3 and consumer products, since August 2021. Moncada also co-founded Lazo LLC and Zoomie, the latter being a social good network for animal celebration, in June 2021. Additionally, Moncada serves as the executive chair of The Zoomie Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to animal welfare. As an advisor, Moncada contributes insights to Tokensoft Inc and Instadapp, a leading DeFi asset management platform. Moncada began investing in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies in April 2013 and co-founded Blockfolio, a mobile portfolio tracking and management tool in the crypto space, which was acquired for $150M in October 2020. From October 2020 to January 2021, Moncada worked as a marketing strategist for FTX. Moncada has a BS in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
