David West, LEED AP, is an experienced urban planner with a focus on New Urbanism, GIS, and sustainable planning. They served as the Chairman and Executive Officer of DesignConnect, where they reformed organizational structures and facilitated strategic planning from 2010 to 2011. David has held various positions in urban planning, including Town Planner for Danby, NY, and Director of Planning and Economic Development for the City of Geneva, NY, where they managed various economic development programs. Currently, David is the Housing and Community Development Director for Tompkins County and continues to teach at Cornell University while maintaining a commitment to affordable housing and community activism.
