Dr. Daniel Schwaab

SVP Corporate Strategy & Foresight at TOMRA

Dr. Daniel Schwaab has a diverse work experience in various industries. Dr. Daniel started their career at EY with an internship in 2006 before moving on to Commerzbank AG, where they worked as a Project & Junior Portfolio Manager from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, they briefly served as the Scientific Coordinator at Cluster NanoMicroMaterialsPhotonic.NRW. From 2010 to 2011, Dr. Schwaab worked as a Senior Consultant at PwC. Dr. Daniel joined SGL Group - The Carbon Company in 2012 as a Manager of Business Development and worked there until 2014. Since 2014, Dr. Schwaab has held multiple roles at TOMRA, including SVP Strategy - TOMRA SORTING from 2014 to 2018, SVP Strategy Circular Economy from 2019 to 2022, SVP Strategy and Sustainability - Recycling from 2022 to 2023, and currently, they serve as the SVP Corporate Strategy & Foresight since 2023. In addition to their roles at TOMRA, Dr. Schwaab has also been involved in organizations like Alliance To End Plastic Waste as the Lead Delegate & CoChair Creating Value for Recyclates from 2019 to 2022 and WBCSD - World Business Council for Sustainable Development as a Liaison Delegate since 2023.

Dr. Daniel Schwaab has a strong educational background in both physics and nanotechnology. Dr. Daniel obtained a Diploma in Physics from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in 2003. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D. in Nanotechnology at RWTH Aachen University, which they completed in 2006. Dr. Schwaab also attended the University of Rochester in 2003 to further their studies in physics. In addition to their academic achievements, they have obtained certifications in Storytelling for Influence from IDEO U in 2016 and in Investments from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) in 2007.
