Jorge Barata

Jorge Barata is a seasoned Software Engineer at TomTom, currently focusing on NavSDK frameworks and telemetry. With 15 years of experience, they have worked on large-scale applications and have developed expertise in backend development using Python, Django, and relational databases, as well as site reliability and infrastructure strategies. Jorge co-founded Cooperativa Social Los Mochuelos, where they launched the Reutiliza project, and has held senior positions at multiple tech companies, including Udemy, Eventbrite, and Indievelopment. They have also contributed to education as a professor in Django web framework at IE University and are committed to mentoring and training in the tech community. Jorge holds a M.Sc in Distributed Systems from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
