Steven Hirsch

Steven Hirsch, Ph.D., is a skilled professional in biomechanics and data science, currently serving as the Manager of Perception and Human Motion at Tonal since April 2024. In this role, Steven oversees a team of data scientists focused on research and development in areas such as computer vision, AI, and applied exercise science. Previous positions include Senior Biomechanist at Uplift Labs, where Steven developed biomechanical models for elite sports, and different roles at Tonal, including Senior Data Scientist for Human Motion. Steven's extensive experience also includes contributions as a Sport Biomechanist at Canadian Sport Institute Ontario and teaching at the University of Toronto, where a Ph.D. in Biomechanics was obtained. With additional roles in technical consulting and product validation, Steven has a well-rounded background in biomechanics, data processing, and athletic performance enhancement.
