Mark Lui

Mark Lui has an extensive work experience, beginning in 1989 as a Senior Scientist at HRL Laboratories. In 1999, they became a Computer Specialist at Alodar Systems, Inc. In 2008, they were a Lead Software Engineer at Shopzilla, Inc. In 2010, they were an Author at Apress. In 2011, they were an Architect at iRise. From 2015 to 2020, they were a Director Software Engineering at Hitwise and, most recently, a Vice President of Software Engineering and Principal Software Engineer at Tonic Document Management (TonicDM).

Mark Lui obtained their BSci in Physics from California State University, Los Angeles in 1981. Mark then went on to UC Santa Barbara, where they obtained their PhD in Physics in 1989. In 1997, they earned their MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. In 2011, they obtained the Cloudera Certified Developer for Apache Hadoop (CCDH) certification from Cloudera.
