John Attanasio

CEO + Co-Founder at Toonstar

John Attanasio has held a variety of roles throughout their career, beginning in 1997 as a Customer Business Executive at Nabisco. In 2000, they joined the founding team at CaseStack as Vice President of Business & Corporate Development. From 2001 to 2004, Attanasio worked at DreamWorks Animation as Director of Customer Marketing & Development. In 2004, they joined Warner Bros. Entertainment as Vice President, Global Marketing & Innovation, where they led a cross-functional team and developed and executed global franchise campaigns. John also served as an Advisor and Mentor for Media Camp, a Turner/Warner Bros. initiative, and designed and launched multiple digital media transformation initiatives. In 2013, Attanasio became a Workshop Instructor and Mentor at Dogfish Accelerator. In 2012, they were a Guest Lecturer at Inside Pictures and in 2018, they were a Yellow '18 at Snap Inc. From 2017 to 2022, Attanasio was an Academy Member and judge for the Shorty Awards, and from 2015 to 2022, they were the CEO and Co-Founder of Toonstar. Currently, they are the Creator and Executive Producer of The Gimmicks, a community-driven animated NFT series and home of the DIC on-chain social layer.

John Attanasio obtained their MBA from the University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business in 2004, with a focus in Marketing and Strategy. John obtained their BA from Loyola Marymount University, majoring in Business and Philosophy. John also attended Loyola High School of Los Angeles. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from Time Warner Inc. and Warner Bros. Entertainment Group of Companies for their Board Leadership Training Program and Leadership Impact Program, respectively.
