Marcus Dovey

Marcus Dovey has extensive work experience as a software engineer, with a focus on web-based enterprise software development. Marcus'smost recent position was as a Senior Software Engineer at Topia, where they worked on creating software for fortune 500 companies to manage their expatriate employee population. Marcus was responsible for database design, writing SQL stored procedures, server-side c# code, front-end code in javascript and HTML5, as well as REST APIs. Marcus'sspecialty was in international payroll, accounting, and reporting. Before joining Topia, Marcus worked at Polaris Global Mobility for ten years, where they held the role of Senior Software Engineer. In this position, they worked as a full-stack developer and architect, making design and technology decisions and implementing them. Marcus also mentored younger developers, conducted interviews for new hires, and did some project management. Prior to that, Marcus worked at Alpentia Software Inc as a Software Developer, where they were responsible for developing a web-based application that handled payroll and accounting. Marcus worked on all three tiers of the system and used ASP. In 2002, Marcus worked at Cogenix as a Software Engineer, where they contributed to an enterprise software project by developing stored procedures, middle-tier web services, and WebForms and WinForms.

Marcus Dovey attended the University of Virginia from 1992 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
