Bill Tsingos

Bill Tsingos is the current General Counsel at Toptal. Prior to this, they served as the VP and General Counsel at Bottomline Technologies from January 2016 to September 2017. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the legal issues that Bottomline Technologies confronted as a US-listed global financial technology company.

A $1 billion market cap company headquartered in the US with offices in 11 countries and over 1,600 employees, Bottomline Technologies is a leading provider of cloud-based business payment, digital banking, insurance, cyber security, fraud prevention, and healthcare solutions. Tsingos' responsibilities included SEC reporting, M&A, corporate governance, contract negotiation and management, business dispute and litigation management, intellectual property portfolio management (patents and trademarks), revolving credit facility, real estate, labor and employment, and regulatory compliance, such as data and privacy protection, OFAC, and FCPA/anti-corruption compliance.

In May 2017, Tsingos assumed the role of Strategic Advisor at Bottomline Technologies in addition to their duties as VP and General Counsel. In this role, they provided advice and guidance on strategic initiatives for the company.

Bottomline Technologies offers hosted and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, as well as software designed to run on-site at the customer’s location. The majority of Bottomline's revenues are derived from offerings sold as SaaS-based solutions and paid for on a subscription and transaction basis.

Tsingos has extensive experience in the legal field, with a focus on technology companies. Bill is currently using their skills and knowledge to help Toptal grow and succeed as a leading provider of top talent in a variety of fields.

Bill Tsingos' educational career includes a J.D. from Harvard Law School, a D.Phil. and M.Phil. from Oxford University in International Relations, and an A.B. from Harvard University in Social Studies. Bill also completed an Advanced Studies Program in Physics at St. Paul's School.

They are on a team with Abhishek Sarkar - SVP, Business Operations, Christy Schumann - VP Talent Operations, and Ismael Peinado - CTO. Bill Tsingos reports to Taso Du Val, Co-Founder & CEO.
