Dan Ballard

Dan Ballard is a skilled software engineer currently working at The Tor Project since August 2022, focusing on Tor Browser development. As a board member and part-time contributor for the Open Privacy Research Society since January 2018, Ballard has contributed to the Cwtch ecosystem, a decentralized and privacy-focused messaging platform. Previous experience includes roles as a software development manager at Amazon, where responsibilities included overseeing the deprecation of the Vendor Express platform, and as a developer at Trulioo, where a scalable deployment system was created. Additional development roles at FCV Interactive and Adventure Engine Inc. involved PHP and JavaScript development. Dan Ballard holds a BSc in Computer Science from The University of British Columbia and an Associate Degree in Computer Science from Langara College.
