Michael Morris has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Michael co-founded Torc in 2021, where they serve as the CEO and is a member of the Board of Directors. Torc is a talent marketplace that uses AI and automation to match freelance developers with companies. Michael is focused on creating a community to support the career growth of freelance developers.

Prior to Torc, Michael served as a Board Member at The Academy of Applied Science starting in 2019. Michael was involved in expanding the reach of the Young Inventors Program, which encourages innovation in STEM among young individuals. Michael's involvement in this program stems from their own lifelong interest in invention and their passion for encouraging innovation in their own children.

In 2017, Michael contributed to the NASA Cross Industry Innovation Summit. Michael worked with NASA to explore cross-industry innovation opportunities.

Before their involvement with Torc, Michael held various leadership roles at Topcoder. Michael was the CEO of Topcoder from 2016 to 2022, responsible for driving its success and that of its customers/partners. Topcoder is a global software development community that revolutionizes enterprise software and has over one million members. Prior to being CEO, Michael served as Senior Vice President at Topcoder from 2002 to 2012.

From 2012 to 2016, Michael worked for Appirio as the Senior Vice President - General Manager of Topcoder. Michael led a high-growth team focused on customer innovation and sales/services for Topcoder. Additionally, they served as the General Manager for Cloudspokes, Appirio's crowdsourcing platform.

Michael's career started at Tallan, Inc., where they worked as the Director of Design and Development from 1997 to 2001. Michael also had a role as a Developer at Invensys (Marcam Solutions) from 1996 to 1997.

In 1999, Michael worked as a Project Manager (Consultant) for Online Retail Partners. Michael managed a team to build an e-commerce platform for various brands, including ZanyBrainy, Ulta Cosmetics, and Dicks Sporting Goods.

Throughout their career, Michael has shown a passion for technology, innovation, and fostering community growth in the software development industry.

Michael Morris attended Boston College High School from 1989 to 1993. Michael then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science at Boston College from 1993 to 1997.
