Codrin Cionca is a Principal Engineer at Torc Robotics, specializing in robotics and autonomy research. Previously, they served as a Robotics and Autonomy Researcher and Technical Lead at Ford Motor Company from 2015 to 2025, where they developed algorithms for LIDAR processing and led innovative autonomous vehicle projects. Codrin was also the Founder of NVision Labs, where they focused on microfabrication processes for MEMS devices from 2012 to 2020. They held a Research Faculty position in the University of Michigan Physics Department from 2006 to 2012, securing over $1.5 million in research funding and mentoring graduate students. Codrin earned a PhD in Applied Physics and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, as well as a BS in Physics from the University of Bucharest.
