Lorien Elleman

Behavioral Scientist at Torch

Lorien Elleman has worked in a variety of roles since 2006. Her most recent role is Behavioral Scientist at Torch, a position they began in 2021. In this role, they lead the Behavioral Science team's most advanced analytics projects and builds new assessments for Torch that are valid, reliable, and psychometrically sound.

Prior to Torch, Elleman was a Postdoctoral Researcher and Research Assistant at Northwestern University from 2013 to 2021. During their time there, they conducted research in psychometrics, statistical learning techniques, item-level analysis, factor analysis, replication, and geographical psychology. Lorien also contributed to the maintenance and expansion of the lab's personality assessment website.

From 2006 to 2013, Elleman worked at Fannie Mae in three roles. Lorien was a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, Credit Risk Analyst, and Research Analyst. In their roles, they conducted regular and ad-hoc research and analysis on counter-party credit risk issues, led alignment testing of lenders' automated underwriting systems, and built a database for financial loss reporting in the Katrina-devastated Gulf Coast.

Lorien Elleman completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from St. John's College in 2006. Lorien then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Personality & Health Psychology from Northwestern University, which they completed in 2020.
