Thomas Heyman is a Principal Security Consultant at Toreon since January 2019, specializing in threat modeling, risk assessment, security architecture, and governance. Previously, Thomas served as the Chief Information Security Officer at Toreon, overseeing information security management. As a co-founder and CTO of Elimity from January 2017 to October 2018, Thomas developed software for efficient employee data access management using advanced attribute-based access control policies. Prior experience includes serving as a Security Consultant and Post-Doctoral Researcher at KU Leuven, where Thomas conducted contract-based research on the security of commercial software systems and performed scalability analysis of large, distributed systems. Thomas holds a PhD in Secure Software Engineering and an MSc in Computer Science from KU Leuven, along with additional culinary education.
