Alex Thell has a diverse work experience, starting with their most recent position as the Principal Simulation Engineer - Computational Mechanics at The Toro Company since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Design Engineer at Tennant Company from August 2018 to April 2023. Alex also worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Nexen Group, Inc from February 2010 to August 2018. Earlier in their career, they were a Design Engineer at Applied Engineering Technology from May 2008 to February 2009. Alex also gained experience as a Product Engineering Intern at Mate Precision Tooling from May 2007 to May 2008. In addition, they worked at BAE Systems as an Engineering Student - Senior Design Project from September 2006 to May 2007, where they supported the manufacturing process and conducted various testing methods. Alex started their engineering career as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Whirltronics, Inc from January 2006 to June 2006.

Alex Thell completed a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, from 2021 to 2026. Prior to that, Alex obtained a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from St. Cloud State University, from 2003 to 2008. In addition to these degrees, Alex also obtained an Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) certification from the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience & Interior Design in July 2008.
