Senior Principal Mechatronics Test Engineer at Toro

Reid Benjamin has a diverse work experience history. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Trim Mower at the Lakeville Parks and Recreation Department. In the same year, they also served as an Assistant Student Gardener at the University of Minnesota - Landcare. In 2012, Reid began their professional career as an Engineering Intern at The Toro Company, where they later became an Associate Test Engineer. From 2015 to 2018, they worked as a Mechatronics Test Engineer at the company, where they developed test plans, procedures, and fixtures for Toro electronic components. In this role, they also reviewed machine software and conducted Hardware in the Loop testing using VeriStand and TestStand. Reid then became a Senior Mechatronics Test Engineer at The Toro Company from 2018 to 2021 before transitioning to their current role as a Principal Mechatronics Test Engineer. In addition to their professional experience, Reid was also a self-employed lawn mowing and firewood sales owner from 2006 to 2019.

Reid Benjamin completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where they attended from 2010 to 2014. Before that, they graduated from Lakeville South High School in 2010. Reid has also obtained additional certifications, including a Professional Engineer certification from the Minnesota Board of AELSLAGID in December 2018, and a Certified LabVIEW Developer certification from National Instruments.
