Ryan Walega

Ryan Walega has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Ryan started their career as an Administrator Assistant at Michigan Technological University, where they updated and maintained the department website and assisted the chair of the department in managing alumni relations. Ryan then worked as a Teaching Assistant/Researcher at Florida State University, where they successfully taught computer literacy and C++ courses and provided computer support to students.

Moving on to their professional software development career, Ryan worked at Cerner Corporation as a Software Developer. There, they managed teams of engineers using Agile methodologies to prioritize and resolve bugs and successfully delivered strategic projects within business goals and timelines.

Following their time at Cerner, Ryan joined Captiveyes as a Software Engineer. Ryan built a CRM and CMS using LAMP, Symfony, AWS, RabbitMQ, and Bootstrap to improve sales team productivity and increase sales revenue per client. Ryan also engineered automated tests using Symfony and Jenkins, significantly increasing code coverage.

Ryan then joined Practice Fusion as a Software Development Engineer in Test. Ryan developed automated testing frameworks to save manual QA testing teams significant time and increase service availability coverage.

In their most recent roles, Ryan worked at Collective Health as a Senior Software Engineer and at Total Brain in the same role. At Collective Health, they increased productivity, improved data consistency, and supported new client integrations and HRIS integrations. Ryan also implemented release processes for the entire engineering teams, promoting cross-team communication and clear release patterns.

Throughout their career, Ryan has demonstrated strong technical skills in various programming languages and frameworks, including C#, .NET, Python, SQLAlchemy, InterSystems database management, and Appium.

Ryan Walega obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University from 2000 to 2004.
